Letterpress Plates

Hello Friends,

I just cannot get enough of the current Holiday Mini Catalog.  Jam packed with fun and fabulous products as well as terrific samples.  Among the many products are the letterpress plates. At the moment there are 4 to choose from.
Here is my favorite one!

Our new Letterpress Plates add a whole new dimension to your stamping projects. You can use these plates with the Big Shot machine to add an ink debossed look to cards, invitations, accents for scrapbook pages, home décor, and more. Inked, debossed impression reminiscent of an old-world letterpress

■ 8” x 5-7/8” x ¼”
■ Use with standard cutting pads and Craft Stampin’ Ink
■ Instructions for use included with each plate
■ Coordinates with Filled with Love set

Utah Divas International Color Challenge #3

Hello Friends,

Challenge #3 for Utah Divas International is here again.  I need to make a gazillion of these cards as I have so many kind and wonderful friends.  I wanted to choose something quick to make because when you have so many to make, it sure helps.  I chose a 3 x 6 card.
Here is the picture Gretchen sent for this weeks challenge

This picture looks so yummy.  We needed to use Concord Crush, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.
The base of my card is Concord Crush. I then used the Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder for the Very Vanilla and stamped the sentiment using Chocolate Chip from the Stamp Set.  Added some Concord Crush stitched poly ribbon and that was it.  Very quick, easy and simple.

Midnight Make and Take - Nap Time

Hello Friends,

My good friend at work, Rett Christensen came over to my desk today and said "Max, did you see you are on the Cruise highlights on the Stampin' Up! website?"  I told him I hadn't so went to check them out.  Awwwwwww just look at this :)  This is a picture of my FABULOUS friend, Dawn Griffith and I.  We were at the Midnight Make and Takes and we were the FIRST there.  We were so excited (and I didn't want to fall asleep before midnight) so we got there early.  That has a lot to do with my OCD and anxiety disorder when it comes to time.  I just CANNOT be late to anything.

Would you like to earn a fabulous trip for 2?  2012 - We are going on an all expense paid trip to Disneyworld.  I would love you to join us.  Sign up to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator today -that is your first step :)

Lovely as a Tree

Hello Friends,

Today I was part of our New Hire Training at Stampin' Up!  I was asked to show these wonderful gals 'a workshop'.  This is really my forte and I really do feel in my comfort zone.

I start a new shift at work in a week and I will be taking on the 7am shift. Really - my name and 7am should not be in the same sentence.  I am SO NOT a morning person.  I do look forward to being home in the afternoon however.  I have made a commitment (to myself) to start holding regular workshops and now with a shift change, it is going to make it so much easier.

I had the gals make the card above as part of the workshop - Make 'n' Take.  I let them know that "Lovely as a Tree" is the oldest stamp set in the catalog.  What will we do when it retires? (SOB :) I often love the crispness of a monochromatic card.  If you are looking for a Christmas Card idea, this would be great.  It is pretty simple but elegant.  You can add a sentiment of your choice to 'finish' it.

Stamp Set :  Lovely as a Tree - 115026 Price: $27.95 Trees, glorious trees! With a variety of trees to choose from, the Lovely As a Tree set offers so many options. Stamp a solitary tree or stamp an image multiple times to create your own forest.Card Stock : Old Olive, Very Vanilla

Accessories : Old Olive 1 x 1/4"Striped Ribbon, Rhinestones, Big Shot/ Petals -a- Plenty Embossing Folder, Two-way Glue Pen and Dazzlin' Diamonds

I have a few spots available for my card class this coming Wednesday (Sept 29th) - Normally the last Tuesday of every month but it is my sons birthday on Tuesday.  Contact me for more details. Not in the area/Cannot make it?  - No problems ask about cards in the mail :)

Cards from a friend

Hello Friends,

I was so excited when I heard that BETH NEMENZ who is in my second level (She signed up under Edie Bunting who is in my first level) was a Rising Star. A Rising Star is a demonstrator who exceeds other demonstrators in their very fist FULL year with Stampin' Up!

I got to meet Beth this past weekend and I felt I had known her for years.  LOVE it when you meet someone and instantly there is a connection.  Beth gave me these 4 beautiful cards.  LOVE them.

There are some stamp sets that you LOVE and some not so much. It is often when I see something created by another Demonstrator, you begin to like it.  This is the case with "Awash with Flowers".  I told Beth that this was the best card I had seen using this set.  LOVE it.
It was so great to meet Beth.  I KNOW she would have had a fantastic time.

How about a FREE stamp set?

Hello Friends,

My husband Lance, asked me to 'come look at this'.  I went to the porch and here is our view.  Fire in the mountains.  Many of our friends have been evacuated already.   I have my bag ready for an emergency.

I just got back today from a fabulous weekend in Saint George, Southern Utah.  The weather was gorgeous as always.  I LOVE the heat.  I attended our 'Fall' Regional Seminar this past Saturday.  I always enjoy Stampin' Up!'s events.  I learn so much, see so much and of course see many friends and make new ones.

I was so excited when they announced that if we as Demonstrators (who attended the Regional) recruit someone before October 3rd, both the Demonstrator and the recruit receive a stamp set for FREE!  The stamp set will be featured in our upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog and it was a set with Chocolate stamps and sayings ! WOOHOO!

Gwen who I mentioned in a post last week is going to sign up so I am doubly excited.  She is on a cruise this week so I look forward to letting her know that not only will she earn the Greenhouse Gala Tote (Click here to read about it) but she will receive a FREE stamp set too.   I am going to send Gwen and anyone else who signs up during this time a pack of 6 different cards as a "Welcome to my team" gift.  Look at the card that was waiting for me when I got back.

This made my day!  How sweet.  Gwen sent a card to thank me.  Yet another wonderful friend Stampin' Up! has brought into my life.  This is the stamp set I received for FREE for attending Regionals.  "Day of Gratitude".  More samples that we made using this set to follow.

If you are thinking about becoming a Demonstrator, NOW is the time :) Click here for more information.

The real Santa

Hello Friends,

Yesterday I went to lunch with a wonderful friend, Joann Wiemers.  She is just the cutest.  We have been planning to get together for a while and it finally happened.  We went to 'Ruby Tuesday' and we both had the fabulous salad bar.  I was thrilled when Joann gave me this card.  It was her swap at Founders Circle.  She told me to sprinkle some dazzlin' diamonds on Santa's hat and beard.  Doesn't this Santa remind you of the 'REAL' Santa Claus?
AND.......Joann bought me the cutest earrings - so very thoughtful.

It was great to see Kayleigh......of course!

Tuachan was awesome!  We got to see TARZAN and it was totally amazing.  I really enjoyed it.

Have a wonderful weekend! I will be back Monday :)

At last

Hello Friends,

The subject "At last" for todays post is very appropriate.  Tami White and I laughed about how we have tried for the past 3 years to have our picture taken together.  For goodness sake we were at Convention in July, stood right next to Kevin Lunt, our SAMEE photographer chatting and STILL didn't have our picture taken together !!!

Last night we got together at Susan Adams for dinner (Cafe Rio) and a shoebox swap. We were NOT going to let the opportunity get away from us.  Tami is so much fun and I am so happy to be her friend and her SAM.

I will be posting some cards we made soon.  Looking forward to our Stampin' Up! Regionals tomorrow.  Right now we are heading out to the Tuachan (outdoor ampitheater) to watch Tarzan.  I have spent all afternoon shopping with my daughter Kayleigh and we met up with Megan Wheeler and Carol Payne.

Spooky Sweet Treat Cups

Hello Friends,

Today I am heading out to St George (Southern Utah) for the weekend.  I have never traveled so much since I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and I just LOVE it ! We have our Regional Seminar there this weekend and I am thrilled.  I have been looking forward to it for a while now.  I am sure I will get to see some of my peeps who are down there enjoying Founders Circle :)

I believe this is the FIRST year I have been kinda excited about Halloween!  I know - that is so shocking for many of you ! :) I love Halloween for the cutesy costumes but I have never been a lover of the witches, goblins, gooks, spooks and SCREAM outfits......
I am pretty convinced it is Stampin' Up!'s fabulous projects that have caused the excitement.

This cute little project was whipped up in literally minutes.  I thought they would be fun for my 6 and 4 year old kiddos to give to their buddies.  I love the 4"x4" cards.  How about those Sweet Treat Cups? (116802)  - Price: $2.95

Do you know the secret for making absolutely irresistible cards? Add treats! It's a snap to do with our Sweet Treat cups. Fill a Sweet Treat cup with goodies and adhere it to the card. You can also purchase Sweet Treat padded envelopes to hold your creations.

■ 2-1/4" diameter including self-adhesive base

■ Cup fits through 1-3/4" hole, so it's sized to work with our 1-3/4" Circle punch

■ Approximately 1/2" deep

■ 12 clear, molded cups per package

■ Food-safe

First I started with Cajun Craze Card Stock.  Then I ran the Basic Black Card Stock through the Big Shot using the Embossing Folder.  I even ran the Basic Black Satin Ribbon through also.  LOVE it!!!  I punched out a circle using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch put some candy corn in the Sweet Treat Cup, put it in the punched out hole and adhered it to the Cajun Craze Card Stock.  I stamped the Spooky from the Wicked Cool Stamp Set onto Cajun Craze Card Stock and punced it out using the Modern Label Punch.

Wicked Cool Stamp Set - I am just LOVING this set :)

Fun with the Top Note Die

 Hello Friends,

I hold a team meeting every first Tuesday of the month at my house.  We always have so much fun.  We share ideas, tips, suggestions, make a project and chit chat and of course eat treats :)

I have an open door policy for anyone to come along who may be interested in becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  This past week, Orlena a gal who I met through my blog, joined us.  We were all ecstatic when she showed us this great project she created with the use of Stampin' Up!'s exclusive Die - "Top Note Die". She even gave us a kit that had all the things necessary to create one of these fabulous projects.  Wasn't that just the sweetest thing?

Top Note Stampin' Up! Bigz Die 113463   Price: $21.95

You can use the Top Note die to create cellophane bag toppers from any piece of card stock or Designer Series paper. Simply cut image using the die, stamp or embellish it, and fold it over the top of a cellophane bag (fold in half lengthwise for medium bags and widthwise for small bags). Voila! You’ve made a custom bag topper in no time!

Mark you planner for October 5th at 7:30pm.  If you are in the area and are wanting to learn more about Stampin' Up!, please come and join us.  Call or e-mail me for more information.

Utah Divas International Color Challenge #1

Hello Friends,

I am soooooooo excited.  One of my great stampin' friends, Gretchen Barron is now hosting a Color Challenge every Tuesday on our UDI blog - http://www.utahdivasinternational.blogspot.com/

I have participated in the UDI Saturday Sketch Challenges and have missed them.  I wanted to try something different and knew that a Color Challenge would be great.  I tend to stick to the same colors and so by joining this kind of challenge, it would help me to work with colors I never or very rarely use.

This weeks Color Challenge was based on this - (Remember the challenge is based on color not the actual picture.)

The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock.  A color that I LOVE and one I haven't used in a l-o-n-g time.  Early Espresso Card Stock is one I LOVE and use a LOT.  I ran this layer through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

I then added some Pear Pizzazz Stitched Poly Ribbon and tied a knot with the Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon.  Next I stamped the "Friends Are Flowers That Never Fade" sentiment from the "Friends Never Fade" Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink on Whisper White Card Stock.

I stamped the flower image again, colored it with the Pretty in Pink Stampin' Write Marker and cut it out and placed it on top of the already stamped flower with a Stampin' Dimensional. I layered it on a piece of Early Espresso Card Stock and then on some Pear Pizzazz Card Stock.  I added some Jewels - Basic Pearls.
Next I put some Crystal Effects in the middle of the flower and added some Pink Stampin' Glitter then left it to dry.

Friends Never Fade - Clear-Mount Stamp (120618) Price: $13.95

There are fewer images more elegant on cards and home décor projects than floral silhouettes. Our Friends Never Fade set provides four more fabulous options for layering on luxury. Use them for subtle backgrounds and bold but delicate accents to make a lasting impression. Available both in wood-mount and clear-mount. Set Quantity: 4

*Be sure to visit next Tuesday - I cannot wait to show you the picture Gretchen sent us for our next Color Challenge :) If you would like to see what my awesome friends came up with for this challenge - click here :)
