Card Class

Hello Friends,

Tonight we had a fabulous time at our monthly card class.  Every last Tuesday of the month, we meet at my house and make 10 cards with matching envelopes.  We make 2 each of 5 designs.
Michelle, a wonderful gal who found me through my Demonstrator Business Web Site came over to 'check it out'.  She was coming over to pick up her order so I suggested she come over this evening to see what fun we have at our 'Girls Night Out'.  It was great to visit with her.  Her last words were "Sign me up - I will be back".
If you live locally, we would love you to join us.  Contact me for more information.

Polka Dot Background and punched images make for a very easy yet cute card.

Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla make a wonderful subtle combination for this 'Sympathy' or 'General' card.

Who doesn't like cupcakes? Peach Parfait, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White card stock. Use the Top Note Big Shot (Stampin' Up! Exclusive) Die for a fun twist.  Add some Dazzlin' Diamonds and some Peach Parfait ribbon - Yummy!
Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper retired in June.  I loved it so much I stocked up on it.  The focal point (butterfly) was 'sent' through the Big Shot to get Polka Dot wings and a sentiment punched out with the Modern Label Extra Large punch makes for a cute body.
We always need a 'manly' card.  The shiny layered part is tin foil.  I placed the foil over some stiff card (for this I used the card that comes in packs of Designer Series Paper and as I stocked up on LOTS of DSP, I will have plenty to keep me going :) I used one of our Texturz plates to get this fabulous 'diamond' look.

If you don't live locally, contact me for more information about my kits in the mail or cards in the mail.

Have a wonderful day!

Class - Friends Never Fade

Hello Friends,

Have you missed me?  I promised myself I would not create anything else until my stamp room was 100% tidy.  It is about 90% of the way there.  Some people say they cannot function if things are in their proper place.  I am the other way round.  I cannot function in chaos and mess.  Everywhere I looked, there was card stock and ink pads and ribbons and Big Shot dies......UGH!!!  I tried spending 30 minutes per day down there (yes it was such a mess) but that did not work.  It was amazing what I found and even more amazing what I threw in the trash.  It was very therapeutic.

Join me in September for a fabulous class.  You can make 10 of these cards for FREE with matching envelopes. (All you need to do is purchase the stamp set and ribbon thru me.)  You can stamp whichever sentiment you want on the front.  You will have a supply of "Get Well", "Thinking of You", "Happy Birthday", "Because I Care", "Sympathy" etc. (Your choice).

All you need to do is RSVP and I will send you an invoice for $20.  You can choose whether you would like Wood Mount or Clear Mount (Stamp Set). I will order the stamp set and the ribbon.  Come over to the class on the 29th and everything will be cut and ready for you to make 10 of these cards.

When:  Wednesday September 29th
Where:  My House
Time:    7:30pm
Cost: $20 (This is for the stamp set and ribbon - class and other supplies-FREE)

Cannot make the class?  No worries - you can sign up for a kit in the mail.  Purchase the "Friends Never Fade" stamp set and a spool of satin ribbon and I will send all the supplies to make 10 cards including envelopes and directions.

Ink pads: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery - If you don't have them already you can add them to your order.  (Ink will be available at the class.)

Contact me with any questions by e-mailing maxstamps@yahoo.com or calling 801 897-0429.

Meet Laura

Hello Friends,

This is Laura Widdison and I at Convention :)
I love Stampin' Up! products.  I don't use any other companies supplies!  The reason being is I don't want to.  I fell in love with Stampin' Up! and I have no desire, need or want to buy any supplies from any other company. Simple as that !

The friends I have made through this fabulous company is the greatest gift.  Take Laura for instance.  I would have probably never have met Laura if it was not for this company.  I met her because her husband Dirk, yes I know ladies 'Big screams for Dirk'.........He was our Photographer.  He would run around Convention and other events with never ending smiles.  He made a gal feel like a million dollars at these events.  One day he came over to my desk and he told me his wife was interested in becoming a Demonstrator and he wanted her to have the best upline.  He told me had heard 'some things' about me and knew I was the one to be her upline.  WOWZERS - I felt a million dollars that day !!

Laura is so very creative.  She is the kinda person you meet and instantly you like her.  She has a smile you wish you could have.  She is always smiling.  She has the cutest little girls and is a wonderful Mommy.  Laura is suceeding in her business.  She is selling and recruiting and is doing awesome.  Her goal this year is to earn the trip to Disneyworld (2012).  I am so very proud of her and feel blessed she chose me to be her upline.....through Dirk of course :)

Here they are - a very happy couple :)

Thank you Dirk for bringing Laura into my life :)

If you are interested in becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, we would love you to join us. We have lots of fun - we meet once a month and share ideas, make projects and of course eat treats.

Home again

Hello Friends,

What a fabulous weekend I had! The girls I met in Canada were truly awesome.  I am so physically worn out but it was so worth it to go and visit with Alicia Ryckman and her team.  I didn't know Alicia too well and I am so grateful she asked me to go and be a Motivational Speaker at her event. I have made a friend for life and we discussed how Stampin' Up! has brought so many friends in to our lives.

Alicia, her husband Jim and daughter Mikayla could not have made me feel more welcome - (especially Mikayla who gave up her bed for me for the night - and it was very comfortable. Thank you Mikayla.)  They did everything they could to make me feel welcome.  What a cute family :)

Alicia's team has a great leader and Alicia has a great team.  These gals made me feel so welcome and loved.  They were so friendly and I loved being with them.  I shared some ideas, tips and suggestions for their business and of course......my good ole' British humor :)

The card featured above was made by Alicia.  Isn't it beautiful.  LOVE IT :)  Love those adorable flowers.

Next month I head back to Detroit for another fabulous Demonstrator's event - Laurie Krauss.

If you have ever considered being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator or are interested in hearing about it - be sure to e-mail me or call me.  I would love you to join my team.  Click here for more details.

Here is what you will get in your Starter kit along with some cards made using product in the kit.  (Put together by one of the fabulous ladies at the event)

O Canada !!!!

Hello Friends,

Today, I head out to Canada for the weekend.  I have been invited by Alicia Ryckman to speak at her Downline event.  I will share ideas, tips and suggestions with approximately 65 Canadian Demonstrators. I have a passion for Stampin' Up!  I love the product! I love the friends I have met! I love working at the Riverton facility.

If you have ever thought about joining Stampin' Up! JUST DO IT :) I haven't regretted my decision I made 6 years ago. It all began with trying so hard to 'get out of going' to a workshop.

I will be back with lots of ideas that I have been taught by wonderful women.  Lance's Grandpa was born in Canada and he was very proud to be Canadian.  He sang the anthem to me on many occasions and asked me everytime I saw him "Did you know I went to Canada on my mission?"  After moving to the USA, he was thrilled to receive his mission call to his native land.

Have a wonderful day!

Happy thoughts make happy days

Hello Friends,

I just LOVE the sentiment on this card :) "Happy thoughts make happy days".
I opened an e-mail from a friend and her reponse to me helping her was 'Thank you kindly' - This was something my dear Father used to say all the time.
That happy thought is going to make this a very happy day for me :)

I was so happy to hear 'Baja Breeze' was coming back.  Our In Colors only lasted for a year so I thought it would be goodbye for good with this color.
Other colors used are Marina Mist, Old Olive, and Peach Parfait.

E-mail or call today if you would like a FREE consultation on card making.

My dear kind & wonderful friend

Hello Friends,

Many of you have asked why I don't participate in the Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge anymore - well simply put, it is the loverrrrly thing they call TIME.  I do check out the challenge and sketches every week.  I just had to share this one with you.

Alisa Tilsner, my Stampin' Up! buddy in Australia made this gorgeous creation.  Two of my very favorite colors along with the adorable flower and beads make this card a complete hit for me.  Just love that sentiment too.

Have a wonderful day!

Try a Technique - Masking

Hello Friends,

Happy Friday!  We are going to St George today in Southern Utah to take our second daughter, Kayleigh to college.  I am so excited for her but yet on the other hand, so sad as I am going to miss her so very much.  Kayleigh has helped me so much over the past years with my Stampin' Up! business and I have loved having her go to workshops with me - she is a great helper.  Click here to read about just one fabulous event Kayleigh helped with.

Enjoy this fun technique today - "Masking" ~ Give it a try !

1] Stamp image on card stock.
2] Stamp it again on a piece of scratch paper.
3] Cut carefully around the scratch paper image, cutting just inside the lines; this will be your mask.

4] Place the mask on top of the card stock image.

5] Stamp another image over a portion of the mask to create layered, interacting images.

6] Remove the mask to see the finished look.

7] To stamp a partial image, use tape to cover the part of the stamp you don't want to appear, ink the stamp, remove the tape, and stamp the image.

QUICK TIP

To ensure that the mask stays in place, stamp image on a Post-It® note.

Flower pot - my kinda style

Hello Friends,

Look at this adorable card!  This was made for me by Martha Armstrong.  Martha happens to be one of my SAMee's and served on the Advisory Board last year.  I had a smile from ear to ear when Martha gave this to me at Convention.  I was simply mesmerized and kept wondering how long it would take to make all the cute flowers.  These flowers were made using the scallop circle punch.

I am not a 'green fingered' person and this kind of potted plant I will keep and treasure forever.  Thanks again Martha :)

Have a wonderful day!

Halloween, Shoes and Mary OH MY

Hello Friends,
I received this fabulous card from one of my very special friends, Mary Fish.  Not only I am Mary's friend - I am her SAM.  I get to work closely with Mary on a regular basis and I just love her to pieces.

Mary is so creative.  I mean seriously I wouldn't mind if Mary sent me a note on a piece of paper but she always sends me the cutest cards.

Just take a look at these!

Shock/Gasp/Horror but I am not a big fan of Halloween.  I love to see the kids dressing up in costumes but I am not a fan of the ghouls, ghosts and goblins. I do love the set that is in the Idea Book and Catalog  - "Wicked Cool."
And for those of you know me - you will know it is all about the shoes.

So another shock - I am going to have a Ghoulish Halloween class this year. I know! I know!  - this comes as a major shock but when you see awesome projects like these Mary made, it really makes you think......

It’s a grab bag of creepy cool images! This set includes anything you need to decorate the dark, dusty corners of any Halloween project. Pull them out for shrouding invitations, cards, tags, and scrapbook pages with some wicked mystery and intrigue. Available both in wood-mount and clear-mount.

Have a wonderful weekend :)
