Utah Divas International - Saturday Sketch Challenge

Hello Friends,

Happy Saturday to you! Every Saturday morning, I love to check out what my fellow Diva Stampers have created for our UDI Sketch Challenge.  No doubt you will have visited Lorie's blog and WOW doesn't she have great ideas.

This was the sketch we were given for this week.

Now as I planned to be out of town this weekend, I KNEW I had to create something fast and have it ready to go.  So I created this card using Stampin' Up!'s fabulous new software - MY DIGITAL STUDIO.

This card literally took 5 minutes to create.  I started with 'Soft Suede' Card Stock as my base and then layered it with 'Very Vanilla'.  I added Brocade in Soft Suede and then added the same stamp using Pretty in Pink.  Using this stamp meant I didn't need to use any ribbon on my card.

I used a Punch and color filled it with Pretty in Pink and added the 'Always' stamp. I then finished the card by adding the 'Together Forever' sentiment stamp.
Very quick, very simple and very cute.

Have a fabulous weekend :)

Inspired by a photograph

Hello Friends,

One of the programs on our Utah Divas International NING group (for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators) is called 'Stampin' Sisters'.  My sister fpr the last round was the 'very creative' - Gretchen Barron from Decatur, IL.

Gretchen was inspired to make me a project from THIS picture.

Now, if you know me well, you will KNOW of my love for shoes.  My fabulous friend, Kimberly Van Diepen from Colorado Springs, CO is wowed by my shoes here and makes a point of them in this picture.

Basically, Gretchen read that post and was inspired to make me this fabulous gift JUST from looking at this picture.  NOW that truly is a work of art.

Get ready to say WOW :)

A beautiful box with the most beautiful cards

Close up view of the front of the box.  VERY detailed.  Does that not look like the pattern of my shoes?

Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life :)

What an absolutely fabulous gift.  You can only imagine my face when I saw this gift and I definitely said 'WOW' over and over.  Thank you again Gretchen for thinking of me.  You are truly an inspiration :)

Laurie's Stampin' Studio

Hello Friends,

I love organization.  I organize my stamp room over and over as I love to have everything organized and change is good, right?  I bought some fabulous storage supplies from IKEA and like to have everything sorted as if my room IS the store.  Pretty glass jars and everything neatly stacked in a row.

One of my very best friends Laurie (She will be sooooooooo upset I didn't say MY BEST FRIEND LAURIE) sent some pictures of her new stamp studio.  I am sure somewhere I have read I am not supposed to 'covet'.  Take a look at these pictures.......She is one very spoiled DIVA :)

Fabulous set up for classes

Look at this for organization and don't forget to keep your feet warm whilst you are organizing :)

I am not sure Laurie has enough card stock ;)

Here are the cute jars I was talking about.  LOVE them :)

Thanks for sharing pictures with us Laurie.  I want to come play !!

Serving the Community

Hello Friends,

It's always great when you see somebody make a card for the first time.....especially when the card is being made for a child.  I volunteered, as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator to help people make cards for the children at Shriner's hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.

Three other Demonstrators, along with myself were picked to help out at the Southtowne Mall in Sandy.  I was told that one of the Demonstrators couldn't make it as she was sick, so I asked my daughter, Kayleigh if she would like to come along to help.  Kayleigh is a fabulous help at my events so I knew she would do a wonderful job.  She really did.  She assisted the best she could and was great with the kids, especially.  I got to meet Heather Van Duker from Draper and Penny Medcalf from Herriman.

Here are a few pictures of the event.

Setting up !  Kayleigh is making sure each section of the table has ink pads.

This is me putting the 'Donation Basket' in the middle of the table.  $300 of Stampin' Up! product in the basket for one lucky winner.
This is Heather :)

The lady in the suit WON the Raffle.  She was so shocked and excited.  $300 of Stampin' Up! product. WOOHOO!!!

What a fabulous day!  This was a great day of service and I loved every minute of it.  Stampin' Up! gives so much to the community and the world.  I am so happy to be associated with such a wonderful company.

Have a great day!

Meet Shelli Gardner - CEO and Co-Founder of Stampin' Up!

Happy Monday Friends!

Stampin' Up! Building - Where I work :)

The Friday before Valentine's Day, Shelli gave a 'hug and a kiss' (chocolate) to every employee in the entire building.  If they weren't at their desk, they would have had a nice suprise when they got into work on Monday.  I was at my desk when Shelli came by and I asked if I could have my picture taken with her.  That is one of the perks of the job - I don't have to wait in line at Convention :)  Shelli is always so gracious and obviously obliged.  I don't know anyone more photogenic than she is.  EVERY single picture I have seen of her, she always looks so wonderful.  I don't just mean with what she is wearing (and she has some beautiful clothes and accessories) but there is never a bad picture......she always looks so great.

Here is the picture :

(Photographer: Mindy Couch)

I asked Mindy to take a picture of Shelli and I and gave her my camera. (Hey a scrapbooker never leaves home without it) HOWEVER, what I did leave at home was my memory card! UGH!  I am always taking pictures and uploading them and realized my card was in my netbook at home.  Mindy came to the rescue.  She had her camera in her purse :) Thanks Mindy!  You saved me waiting in the line at Convention. He! He!

To learn more about Shelli, you can follow her blog at http://www.soshelli.com/ Check out her new banner. You will see here what I mean about 'photogenic' :)  The banner was made using MY DIGITAL STUDIO.  Click here for more information about this wonderful software.

Stampin' Up! has been such a blessing in my life.  I have met the most wonderful people and have made lifelong friends with many of them.  Thank you Shelli for believing in Stampin' Up! and yourself.  You have done so much good for so many people and not only am I happy to be a Demonstrator, I am happy to be an employee where I get to see you on so many occasions!

Utah Divas International - Saturday Sketch Challenge

Hello Friends,

This is the sketch we had to use for the challenge this week.

When I looked at the challenge I was not sure what I was going to do.  Usually I have an idea in my mind what I am going to create but not with this one.  I am really looking forward to seeing what the rest of the team came up with.

You may remember last week we had to use our least favorite/used Stampin' Up! color.  Click here to see that challenge.
This week was much easier.  I used Chocolate Chip which happens to be my all time favorite Stampin' Up! color.  It is so versatile and it has become my main staple.  Add some Pretty in Pink and voila, awesome color combination.

Here is what I came up with

Stamp Set: With all my Heart
Card Stock:  Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Sending Love Specialty
Ink: Whisper White Craft
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Double Stitched Ribbon, Pretty in Pink Brad, White Embossing Powder, Big Shot/Circles #2, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Heat Embossing is my favorite technique. It goes perfectly with the Designer Series Paper.

Have a go at our challenge this week and post a comment with a link on our blog http://www.utahdivasinternational.blogspot.com/

Now head on over to Ruthie Burkey's blog - a very special friend of mine, to see what she created.  Click here :)

Have a wonderful weekend.

Sharing two cards from two friends

Hello Friends,

Yesterday when I got to work, I saw 2 envelopes on my desk.  As I work for a company that specializes in card making, it didn't take a genius to see what they were.
I don't like to look at the return address as I like to open the envelopes and see the beautiful creations.  Not only were they fabulous cards, they had a wonderful, hearfelt message in them from two dear friends of mine.

Mary Fish from AZ created this wonderful card

and Laurie Krauss from MI created this wonderful card

Thank you so much Mary and Laurie for thinking of me and creating such amazing cards for me.  I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends.

Have a wonderful day!

Terri's Owl Valentine Box

Hello Friends,

We were invited to participate in a "Make a Valentine Box" contest at work.  One of the SAM's, Terri Allen,  made this adorable box.  When I arrived at work, I could hear Terri clicking away at her desk during her break and I just HAD to see what she was doing.  She was punching out tonnes of scallop oval punches from Chocolate Chip Card Stock.

Here is her finished project.......which, by the way she won first prize :)

What an adorable project :)  Truly amazing.  I asked Terri where she got her inspiration from.  She showed me !  (Look at page 31 in the Occasions Mini Catalog.)

I sure hope you have an Occasions Mini Catalog.  It is absolutely amazing.  Such cool products and projects.  Let me know if you would like me to send you one.
