A message for my friends

Hello my friends,

No creation for you today, just a message for you :)

I have had a really rough day today!  I had to go to see the Doctor and NOT so good news.  The Nurse took my blood and I had to give a Urine Sample.  Both of them did not look good.  I have high blood pressure.  I have had major stomach pains and lower back pain for a while now.
I have to go see a specialist for a colonoscopy.  YIKES!  So I have been majorly stressed about this not so good news. I need to find out what is going on and I do believe that the 'not knowing' makes you go crazy with worry.

Most of you know my Dad suffered with cancer and ultimately passed away due to this ugly disease.  There is a concern for cancer.
I went to several of his appointments when he had to have a colonoscopy and he did not like the "stuff" he had to drink in preparation for it.  I remember once, he took a little sip and his face said it all (and he was not a wimp when it came to meds and pain).  I said "Dad, just gulp it down".  He passed me the cup and said "Here love, you try 'just' gulping it down."
I got the message. :)

Now here I am having to go through that and I will be able to say "I KNOW EXACTLY how it was to have to drink that 'stuff'.
I will find out later today when this procedure will take place and I will let you know.  Please keep me in your prayers.

Here's one of my favorite pictures of my Dad and I.  It was taken at Hornsea Freeport in England.  It was to be one of the last days we spent together.

To read more about my wonderful Dad, you can visit the blog I created in his honor! http://www.johnsims-ourhero.blogspot.com/

With Love,

Max,
I will keep you in my prayers. I hope it is nothing as serious as cancer. The power of prayer will get you through this difficult time. You are so right, the not knowing is the most difficult part of this whole experience because we as humans feel completely helpless at this stage. Something we don't handle well.

Hey Max,
I know that "mind over matter" can't fix everything, but with your positive vibes it could work miracles so keep the faith! In regard to the "yucky stuff", I've had to down a bottle of that more than once and although it's not a taste sensation anyone is going out of their way for, it's doable. CHILL IT if you can. Somehow, it's better cold. And you'll be clean as a whistle, plus get plenty of reading done on your many trips to the "throne" as the liquid works its magic, so grab a favorite magazine and make the most of it. (Too bad the March Stampin' Success isn't already here!). My prayers are with you, mainly to keep you optimistic and realize that there are PLENTY of things that could be causing your symptoms that can be treated, and are not life-threatening. Here's praying they'll find something easy to fix. Thanks for sharing what's up so we CAN all be praying for you and sending positive thoughts your way. Keep us posted!

I am praying for you Max! Ask your doctor if you can put like a Crystal Light packet to make the liquid stuff taste better! Some of my nurse friends said their doctors they work with will allow it...but ask first! It makes is easier to gag down! LOL You are in my thoughts and my prayers!

Max, my dear friend.... I am lifting you up in prayer today. I hope you can feel the peace of the Lord in your life over these next few days as you learn the plan He has for you. It's hard not to worry but you are in His hands. :) And, you have SO much support from demos and friends.

I just sobbed when I saw the picture of you and your dad. What a special man he was in your life and I know that you treasured the time you had with him.

I wish I could be there to just HUG you so do me a favor... ask one of your co-workers to hug you for me, okay?

Love ya!!!

Ok, Max, keep that upbeat fun attitude you always have. We will all be praying for you. I was just listening to Mark Lowry on TV and he reminded me that we can die from high cholesterol or worry, but cholesterol is more fun to eat so he quit worrying! God is in control, my friend. Sherrie Robinson

Hi Max. Hang in there.
I've been going through something similar....'tis a LONG story....and you are right, the anxiety I'm feeling about NOT knowing what is going on, is the worst. It keeps me up at night. I've been dealing w/'stuff' since a few days after Xmas. I certainly hope only the best for you. I think your story, and similar symptoms, have prompted me to ask for this yucky test ASAP. {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}

There are alternative things you can drink. In fact, now they just have you take pills. You can drink them with water or soda. You just have to stay home.

The prep is worse than the colonoscopy. just do the whole colon because the shorter version is what is a pain in the ###. I have to get checked every 5 years because of a polyp I had removed a long time ago. It wasn't cancerous but its better to be safe than sorry.

NOT doing anything because you're scared is worse than attacking this thing head on. But you've GOT to do what the doc tells you.

ASK FOR THE PILLS. I can't drink that heavy water. The pills are a cinch.

You'll never remember anything. THINK GOOD THOUGHTS!

Max, you have so many people praying for you (myself included). I had a cancer scare seven years ago when I was pregnant with my first baby- they found a big cyst on my thyroid. As scary as it was, everything turned out fine. I spent so much time worrying and crying and wondering what would happen to my baby, and now all I have to show for it is an ugly scar. :) So hang in there- the Lord knows you and is watching over you.

Hi Max...Just to let you know you'll be in my prayers. The "unknown" can be scary...try hard to stay positive and fill your mind with pleasant thoughts... Be brave. Hugs. Dorothy

Max, I am so sorry to hear this. You are definitely in my prayers.
I just had this test and it is okay... the prep is worse than the test. You really will fly by, and you get the results immediately. you won't remember it, so that is a good thing.
You are so loved... hang in there.. I'm praying.

We love you too!!!! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I've had the colonoscopy and you know, it's really not that bad. I just mixed it with Sprite and that was it. The positive thing about a colonoscopy is the instant weight loss .. he he!!! Unfortunately, after the procedure and you eat, it comes right back! What's up with that!!!!

Max, one more thing that I don't think I included in the email I sent you, and I meant too. When I had a colonsocopy, they had me drinking Gatorade - that was much better than that yucky stuff that most people had been having to drink. Maybe you can ask them about this - I usually didn't like gatorade either, but it was pretty good. Seems I ate a bite of something sweet, and that helped it to taste better to me. But it was sure better than that yucky stuff. Still praying for you.

Max, I will be praying for you! I know the test preparation is no fun as I have it done yearly. It's one day, and you can get through it! Just remember that God holds you in the palm of His hand. May He fill you with peace.

Hey baby,
So sorry to hear that you're being frightened this way. As many have stated, this could be a lot of things, not necessary the big "C". You know I've been there, so I know how scary this can be, especially when there's a family history there. The good news is that you went to the doctor's and they're going to do something about whatever this is. The prep for a colonoscopy is definitely the worst part of the process, but you're about to get one of the best "rests" of your life. That twilight sleep is awesome...that is until you pass gas like there's no tomorrow ;) Just a spoon full of Crystal Light helps the medicine go down...in a most delightful way. You'll never want to drink Crystal Light again, but it does the trick for this. My thoughts and prayers are with you sweetie. Believe in the power of prayer...look what's it's done for Dennis!!! Big Hugs, JC
