Guest Blogger - Katie Adams

Hello Friends,

I invited my friend Katie to be a guest blogger today. Look at this super cute project :)

Hello Everybody!  My name is Katie from The Crafty Blog Stalker and Maxine was kind enough to let me come on her amazing blog and share a little tutorial with all of you.

I am going to show you how I made this fun Flower Felt Scarf using 2 of Stampin' Up's Exclusive Big Shot Dies.

I love this scarf and I get compliments every time I wear it.  To make this all you will need is felt, Bigz Island Flower die, Bigz L Fun Flowers die, needle and matching thread.  If you preferred you could easily skip the needle and thread and just use a glue gun.

For the base of my scarf I cut a strip of felt about 2 1/2 inches wide and 38 inches long.

I used 5 different flowers from the 2 dies.

Take your 4 largest flowers and layer them small to large.

Knot the end of your thread and come up through the stack of flowers just a little off center and stitch and X with each line of the X about 1/2 inch long.

Pull the thread tight and this will gather the inside of your flower.

Next, take your smallest flower and fold it in half twice.

Hold it in the center of the larger flower and stitch it into place pulling the needle up through the bottom.

Make a couple extra stitches to make sure it is good and secure and you have your felt flower.

My scarf took 17 flowers.  Don't they all look pretty sitting in a pile?

Hand stitch the bottom largest flower to the base of the scarf.  By only stitching the bottom flower the other layers cover up the stitching so you can't see it.  Then round the edges of the base so they will blend in with the flowers.

And Wallah!
You now have a fun beautiful handmade scarf that all of your friends are going to rave about.

Thank you Katie!  Isn't this awesome?  Looking forward to giving this a try :)
