Hello Friends,
I have been invited to join in the Pals Blog Hop. Mary Fish is the fearless leader of the PALS and while being fearless Mary is also FANTABULOUS! One of my fave words as Mary is as equally fantastic as she is fabulous :)
Welcome to the November Pals Hop! This month, we're featuring Winter, Christmas, and Hanukkah inspired cards and projects! Enjoy the hop and the amazing creations that the Pals have come up with.
You've likely hopped over from Julie Trevett-Smith's blog at http://www.thestampinaffair.com/ I'm stop number 3 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for Winter, Christmas, and Hanukkah paper projects from the Stampin' Pretty Pals!
I love card making but my real passion lies in Scrapbooking. I hold Scrapbooking Classes on a monthly basis in my home and while all my books are full of pages, they are not complete - NO PICTURES. That is something I am working on - honest!! :)
My first project is the 12x12 double page layout. Living here in Utah, we obviously see our fair share of snow so we have a lot of pictures of family days playing in the white stuff.
Night of Navy, Bashful Blue and Whisper White was my chosen color combo for this layout. With the Brilliant BIG SHOT, I didn't even need to use any stamps or ink for this. All of this layout was created using Dies. I added some Basic Rhinestones (#119246) and Not Quite Navy 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon as my embellishments for this layout.
My second project is a very simple MDS layout. My Digital Studio is one of Stampin' Up!'s most amazing products. A software program that is downloaded onto your computer and then the 'sky is the limit' so to speak.
Talk about simple!!! The great thing about 'MDS' is that you don't have to create if you don't want. You can choose the photo box page and just simply drag pictures into the boxes. I used Baja Breeze Card Stock and added some Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon at the bottom along with a snowflake punch and "Let it Snow" in text and this page was DONE!
My third project is a Christmas card duo we are making at our 'Chicks and Chocolate' clubs this month.
I used Night of Navy as the card base. With darker colored card stock, I always add an 'inlay' so there is a piece of Whisper White card stock in the inside. I ran the top Whisper White card stock layer through the Big Shot using the Snow Burst Embossing Folder. I stamped the Tree from Stampin' Up!'s longest serving stamp set - "Lovely as a Tree" in Versamark and then embossed it using the Silver Embossing powder. Finally, I added a bow using the Whisper White Organza Ribbon.
Real Red! You can never go wrong with this color. Fabulous for this 'Stocking' Card. I used the Scallop Circle Die and the Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder for the base. The circle was ran through the Big Shot using the Stripes Embossing Folder. PERFECT for a 'fireplace' look. I punched out the stocking using the Stocking Builder Punch. Finally I created the Merry Christmas banner using the "Four the Holidays" Stamp Set.
I hope you enjoyed visiting my blog today and hope you found something to inspire you :) I LOVE to read comments so please be sure to leave one for me today.
