Countdown to Halloween Calendar

Hello Friends -

Countdown to Halloween begins tomorrow!  While Halloween is not my favorite of holidays, I know most of you guys love it!

Kim Stewart, one of our Stamp to the MAX team members created this fabulous "Countdown to Halloween"

Kim used the Pick your Poison Stamp Set and Designer Series Paper and the Wicked Cool Stamp Set.  With embellishments and cut up magnet sheets on the back of each piece, she put them on a mini muffin tin.

What a fabulous idea.  Interested in buying this project or making it yourself at a class? Contact me for more details.

Not so fond of Halloween, I will be holding a class where you will  make your own Advent Calendar using a mini muffin tin! Details coming soon!

John's 8th Birthday

Hello Friends,

Yesterday was a very busy, yet fun day!  Our son John turned 8 years old.  When he got home from school, his eyes lit up.  Our oldest daughter, Natalie had decorated the house inside and out with balloons and banners.  He loved it.
In our family, we ask the 'birthday person' what they would like to do for the rest of the evening.  John said he wanted to go to "Incredible Pizza" - former name, now known as Planet Play. UGH!, thought Mom!  For those of you who don't know, I don't like melted cheese and so no pizza for me! But of course, it was John's choice and that is where we went.  We had a blast as there are plenty of things to do for kids.

The pictures shown above were yesterday and this morning I simply added them into our "My Digital Studio" program.  So quick, so easy and much quicker than traditional scrapbooking, although I will take care of that ....later :)

If you are interested in this fabulous software program, let me know. Visit http://www.mydigitalstudio.net/ for ideas.  Click here to watch a short informative video.

Autumn Splendor

Hello Friends,

I got to thinking how much I really LOVE the Fall.  I love the smells (think hot cider, pumpkin pie, apple pie, cinnamon).  I love the thought of walking through crisp leaves.  I LOVE the colors !

I took out the following ink pads from my Color Caddy and started to 'play' -
*Early Espresso, Soft Suede, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party.

I took Whisper White and used that as my base and the layer.  I stamped images from the Autumn Splendor Stamp Set.  I have neglected this amazing Stamp Set.  I LOVE IT.  I used the colors above and had a great time.  I made a 3x3 and a 5x5 card along with the traditional 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.

Autumn Splendor (Wood Mount only) - $20.95

Fabulous cards to give as gifts or easily make and send to your friends.  I used the sentiment "There's always something for which to be thankful" from the "Always Thankful" set in the Holiday Mini.

Always Thankful  Wood Mount - $25.95  Clear Mount - $19.95

Fall Blocks - Class/Kit in the Mail

Hello Friends,

Yesterday was 95 degrees here in Riverton, UT and I was thinking how quickly the snow will be arriving! UGH!  I love snow, but December and January suit me fine for that - I don't like the cold!

Fall is one of my most favorite times of the year - simply for the colors.  Here in Utah, living by the Wasatch Mountains is a delight.  The trees on the mountain look so beautiful with the gorgeous colors of the leaves.  ( I will post pictures soon:)

One of my wonderful customers Janyce, who has become a very special friend of mine asked me a while back to come up with an idea for a group of ladies from her church.  They are having a 'Super Thursday' event and this is what I came up with.

I started out with the Decor Blocks and of course used the Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper - my favorite at the moment.  I used the Leaves #2 & the Perfect Dies with the Big Shot, and along with Pool Party, Early Espresso, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz and Very Vanilla Card Stock and Classic Ink I got to work!  Of course I add to add some pearls.

This is the PERFECT kit in the mail.  No stamped images.  I can send you a kit (or you can pick one up) with everything you need to make this fun project.
You can purchase your Decor Blocks thru my online store or e-mail me an order at maxstamps@yahoo.com  Once your blocks arrive, I will send you a kit so you can complete this project.

Want to make these at class?
When: Wednesday October 5th
Where:  My House
Cost: $15 (With pre-purchased blocks for the kit in the mail - the kit will be just $5)
Please RSVP by October 3rd - No RSVP date required for Kits in the Mail.

Saying THANK YOU in a quick and simple way

Hello Friends,

I have received e-mails asking for simple cards that don't take a long time to make and use a minimal of product. This task really was out of my comfort zone as I LOVE bling and embellishments.

Very Vanilla is a fabulous color for the Fall and that is the only color card stock necessary for this card. I cut out a 3"x3" piece and stamped the lined image of the leaf from the "Gently Falling" stamp set which is available for purchase in the Holiday Mini. I used Early Espresso Classic Ink for the lined image and Soft Suede for the solid image. I also tried More Mustard which gave it a softer touch. I adhered the image onto a standard 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" Very Vanilla Card Base.

I stamped the "Thank You" sentiment from the "Cute and Curly" stamp set using Early Espresso.

I made 12 of these cards in less than 10 minutes. Perfect for those with busy schedules and for those who have minimal supplies. Although this was out of my comfort zone, I am going to try this again :)

Too busy to make this card? No worries - buy them in packs of 10 for just $12 - this price includes envelopes.

Fall Projects

Hello Friends,

Last night was our Chicks and Chocolate Club.  We always have a blast and I am just so extremely grateful for the wonderful friends that have come into my life and ARE a part of my life because of Stampin' Up!

We all made a cute little 'Fall Banner' and a card.  The banner was easy to make thanks to an awesome new die "Perfect Pennants" that came out in this years Idea Book and Catalog.  I got my gals thinking about all the different holidays, birthdays, events etc where they could really use this die.

I got the inspiration for the card from this card which was one of our swap cards made by Julie

I changed it up just a little bit.

Always Thankful/Kit in the Mail

Hello Friends,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!  They always seem to pass so quickly don't they?  We had our quarterly shoebox swap as the Stamp to the MAX team.  Everyone did a fabulous job.  We made awesome cards.

This was my card.  I love Fall.  I love the colors! Here in UT, the mountains look simply breathtakingly amazing during the Fall.

The Holiday Mini is full of exciting things for the Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Holidays and fall in general.

Early Espresso quickly became one of my most favorite Stampin' Up! colors.  Whenever I use a darker color for the base of my card, I always add a 'liner' in the middle.  It makes the card so elegant and obviously makes writing in it so much easier.

To begin, I ran a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock through the Big Shot using the "Houndstooth" Embossing Folder.  I added a piece of Spice Cake Designer Series Paper to the card with a piece of Early Espresso Card stock which had been punched using the "Lace Ribbon Border".
I used the Big Shot and the "Perfect Pennants" die to cut out the Spice Cake Fabric and added pearls to each of the holes.  I added a Spice Cake Designer Button with a Designer Button from the Regals Collection using linen thread and adhered them using mini glue dots.

I stamped the "Grateful" sentiment from the "Always Thankful" stamp set using Early Espresso ink.  I used the 1" square punch to create the banner effect.

E-mail me at maxstamps@yahoo.com if you would like to order a kit in the mail.  You will receive all the items to create 10 cards in the comfort of your own home.  Cost is $25 and can be paid by cash, check, paypal or credit card (Discover, Mastercard or Visa) and includes shipping.  Due to Stampin' Up! policy I cannot send stamped images in the kits.  You can either come over to stamp them if you live locally, use any sentiment you may have at home or order the Always Thankful Stamp Set.

Halloween Countdown

Hello Friends,

Today we had a wonderful time at our team meeting.  Every quarter when a new mini catalog comes out we get together for a shoebox swap.  Each participant creates a card and everyone receives the necessary items to create that particular card.

The Holiday mini is fabulous and today we made awesome cards.  Mary Jane brought along one of her projects she made (above).  What a fabulous idea for a 'countdown'.  I am going to create a Christmas countdown and offer it as a class. More details to come.

During the upcoming week, I will post the swaps we shared today.
