Guess what I found?

Hello Friends,

Last month when I visited Elmer, NJ for a Demonstrator Event, I stayed with one of my great friends, Kristin Kortonick.  Just before her husband Mike took me to the airport, I was able to make cards at Kristin's class.
I was so thrilled to be 'invited' - it was so awesome to be a guest at the class and not the teacher.  Everything cut out and ready to go.

Here are the cards we made.  I am ready to head back to PA tomorrow and guess what I found in my case as I was packing.  YEP - these gorgeous 4 cards that I made.

Reminder - there are just 3 more days that the items in the Occasions Mini Catalog will be available.  Click here to view it online.

Guest Stamper - Brandy Cox

Hello Friends,
I have mentioned many times how I am so grateful to Stampin' Up! for all the friends it has brought into my life.  Take Brandy for instance.  I met Brandy last year at our annual Convention.  She is so cute, so kind, so well mannered, softly spoken, absolutely fabulous kinda gal.  You know the kind of person you meet and instantly you LOVE them.

Well not only is Brandy all of the above but of course she is very creative too.  Look at this gorgeous card she made.  She used the Fabulous Florets from the upcoming Summer Mini Catalog. Way to go Brandy!

MDS Monday

Hello Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Easter.  I have been so busy lately, I haven't had chance to do a fraction of what is on my 'to do list'.  Kayleigh (my college daughter) came home this weekend and I spent a lot of time with her and so this week I have to work overtime :)

Today is MDS Monday with Utah Divas International.  We had to create a project with a Spring/Easter theme using 'butterflies'.

The 'Designer' card came in very handy today due to my time restrictions.  All I had to do to this card was add the butterflies.  LOVE it :)  The card was ready made and saved so much time and guess work.

Love & Care

Hello Friends,

When I got home from work today there was a box on the porch left by one of my favorite people - The UPS guy :)  I brought the 'goodies' into my stamp room and my kiddos said "Let's make Grandma a card".  As they have 2 Grandma's, we had to make 2 cards :)

I cut the card stock and the ribbon and after getting the stamps and ink ready, they got to work. I guided them the best I could. Olivia just loved the cute leaf stamp :) What a cute card made by such cute kids for such cute Grandmas :)

This stamp set - "LOVE & CARE" will be available as a Level 2 Hostess Set beginning May 1.  Be sure to e-mail me at maxstamps@yahoo.com or call me on 801 897-0429 to book your workshop.  You will have the chance to earn this fabulous set for FREE in your choice of either wood mount or clear mount.

Wonderfully Wicked Wednesday #7

Hello Friends,

For the month of April we are to use cogs, clocks, circles etc for the Wonderfully Wicked Wednesday challenge on Utah Divas International.  I am getting great use out of a stamp set I have overlooked for a while - "Sense of Time".

I love this color combination - Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink and Very Vanilla.  The base is Early Espresso with a layer of Pretty in Pink ran through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I used the DECORATIVE ACCENTS Die with the Big Shot - always reminded of how wonderful this product is.  I stamped the Clock from the Sense of Time Stamp Set using Early Espresso ink and cut it out.  Yes my friends you read that correctly - CUT OUT.  If you follow my blog, you will know I do not like to cut :)

I used the Decorative Label and the Modern Label Punches for the sentiment from the Cute and Curly Stamp Set.  I then added a piece of Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon.

Utah Divas International Color Challenge #32

Hello Friends,

YAY! Finally got my submission into Utah Divas International for the Color Challenge this week.  I really enjoy these challenges, especially when they are colors I am most comfortable with.

Here are the colors we were given to work with this week.  LOVE it :)
I used Basic Gray as the base color and then added a layer of Daffodil Delight.  I ran it through the Big Shot using the FRAMED TULIPS Embossing Folder.  My next layer is Basic Black using the FLOWER GARDEN Embossing Folder which will be available in the upcoming Summer Mini.

I used Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon and ran it down some Sticky Strip with cute little folds.
I stamped the image from the FOUR FRAMES stamp set - Check out the promotion :)
Next I added a sentiment from the "YOU'RE A GEM" stamp set from the Occasions Mini.  I used the Daffodil Delight Stamp 'N' Write Marker and then used the Spritzer Tool (you cannot tell in the picture:( to add some color to the 'white space'.
The Color Spritzer tool can turn a Stampin’ Up! marker into an airbrush. Use this technique to create beautiful airbrushed effects. It’s great for card making, scrapbooking, and all types of paper crafting. This is a must for your creative "tool belt!"

■ PVC bulb with an insert for placing a marker with adjusting screw nozzle

■ Black with matte finish

■ Easy to use

MDS Monday

Hello Friends,

Finally!  I got to play with MDS and join in our MDS Monday with Utah Divas International.  This card took 2 minutes.  LOVE this software.
We were asked to create a "Spring Themed" project.
The base of the card is Daffodil Delight. I then layered it with Bashful Blue, added an image from the "Charming" stamp set using Whisper White and added a sentiment from the "Define your Life" stamp set using Night of Navy.

It really pained me not to use any embellishments but with this gorgeous image, I didn't think it needed any.

Have a Seat

Hello Friends,

I just love Basic Black and Very Vanilla together.  What a fabulous color combo.  It is amazing how I have a plethora of colors to choose from and can always make something with just two basic colors.
I used Basic Black for the card base, with a layer of Very Vanilla inside and on top of the card.  The one on the front I ran through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I then used another awesome Die - Top Note.
I stamped the image from the Have a Seat Stamp Set and used the "i miss you" sentiment from the Three Little Words Stamp Set using Jet Black Stazon Ink.  I added 2 Black (Neutrals) Brads using the Paper Piercing Tool. To finish it off, I added a piece of Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Perfect little card created in less than 15 minutes.
Leave a comment today letting my readers and I know what your favorite color combination is.

FYI - Spring is Blossoming

Hello Friends,

This months promotion *Spring is Blossoming* enables you to purchase a Stamp Set (Four Frames) and Designer Series Paper (Paisley Petals) with a $20 purchase.
The stamp set coordinates perfectly with the Decorative Label Punch.

I used a stamp set that I haven't used in a long time! "FYI" - It is full of wonderfully cute sentiments for the inside of your card.  The one I will never need to use personally is "I'm expecting" ;)
For this card, I used the notecards (cards that are cut and scored, ready to go). I added a strip of DSP and then the sentiment finished off with some Early Espresso 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.

This is the inside of the card -
I then made up cards using a piece of all the paper in the pack.  The card shown a the top shows a 'step up' from these cards.  This is a perfect way to create note cards in a hurry or for simplicity.

The FYI stamp set offers nearly a dozen phrases you can use whenever you want to create a card that sends a certain message. Birthday wishes, words of encouragement, and thoughts of friendship--it's all here
